Water is one of the most important things in the world. We drink it, cook with it, wash with it, and even play with it. But did you know that not all water is safe<\/strong>? If we drink or use dirty water, we can get really sick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me tell you how clean water keeps us healthy \u2014 and how dirty water can cause problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\udd64 Clean Water Helps Our Bodies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When we drink clean water, our bodies stay strong and fresh. Clean water helps us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Stay cool on hot days<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Help our tummy digest food<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Remove bad stuff from our body when we pee<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Keep our skin and eyes clean<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Our bodies are mostly made of water, so we need to drink it every day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \ud83e\udd22 Dirty Water Can Make Us Sick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    If we drink water that has dirt, germs, or poop in it, we can get sick with diseases<\/strong> like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Cholera<\/strong> \u2013 makes you vomit and have bad diarrhea<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Typhoid<\/strong> \u2013 makes you feel very weak with fever<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Worms<\/strong> \u2013 live in your stomach and steal your food<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Dysentery<\/strong> \u2013 causes painful diarrhea with blood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      These are called water-borne diseases<\/strong>. They are very dangerous, especially for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      To make sure we use clean water:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Boil it<\/strong> before drinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Cover water containers<\/strong> so flies don\u2019t enter<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Use clean cups<\/strong> when drinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Wash your hands<\/strong> before eating or after using the toilet<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Don\u2019t fetch water from dirty places<\/strong> like near rubbish or animal poop<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        If someone drinks dirty water and gets sick:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Go to the health centre or hospital<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
